We have prayed for the establishment of a Korean language chair in the Campinas State University which we have served, for last two years. Wulsan University in Korea informed M. Debora and M. Sara that they had received her résumé on June 6th. Both universities have coordinated with exchange students which resulted in the chair of Korean language being officially established as a language course of the Humanities College at Campinas State University.

Thus, Missionary Debora Kim and Missionary Sara Kim will start lecturing on September 12th, with permission and support of Wulsan University,  Sejong School, and Campinas State University. M. Sara lectures 6 hours per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. M. Debora lectures 5 hours every Saturday. Dr. Yoongil Chang, who has been a long time professor at the Department of Food Engineering is the honorary head of the department. He is helping us to finish all the formal steps for this program.

The opening ceremony of the Sejong School took place on last September 2nd, having a public performance to introduce the Korean culture at the auditorium of the Campinas State University. We were in the midst of inviting presidents, vice presidents, and heads of the Departments in Korea and Brazil and the Consul General, Korean residents, and students.

In the past two months two classes have each exceeded capacity of 30. Missionary Sara is going to study the Bible one to one starting this week with brother Lucas who will go to Korea to study. We have invited Korean second generations and students studying in Campinas to Sunday Worship Service.

Missionary Debora and Missionary Sara lectures a beginner’s course this semester, but next year we will lecture primary and even intermediate course with increased lecture hours. Sejong School in Korea has a plan to send more teachers here. We hope that co-workers with world mission vision may apply as Korean sending teachers to the Sejong School and come here as short-term missionaries.

We pray that Missionary Debora and Missionary Sara may bear the lecture, that we may have a catalytic role for the gospel work and reveal the Lord’s glory. We also pray for little Dani’s restoration and Mark’s gospel message of Missionary Paulo Kim in this semester.
