In October 16-18 M. Isaac and Rebecca Choi (Chicago) visited the Univ. of Missouri at Kansas City UBF for the purpose of T&PE. We gave three lectures (two for parents and one for teachers) followed by questions and answers each session:
- The godly family in the world mission
- The first and second institution of God
- Direct your children
- The Great Commission
- The vertical and horizontal relationship
- Children Bible Fellowship (CBF) ministry
- The background and purpose
- The importance based on maturity progress
- Three essentials
- Family discipleship
- The first & greatest commandment
- Three theological foundations
- The necessity of family discipleship
- Family worship
The UMKC was pioneered by Dr. Noah and Sweety Rhee 28 years ago. Later Dr. Martin and Lydia Mun joined together and established a beautiful coworking ministry. Also M. Mary Chiesi’s family is there as a hope for UMKC ministry. Dr. Noah is a mathematics professor in UMKC. He is an ideal UBF campus shepherd and missionary. Dr. Martin offers every Thursday for fishing and 1:1. Under their shepherding student Ben (Med.) and Sandy (UMKC) are growing. UMKC UBF has 7 growing children: Noah Jr, Gloria, Abraham, Joseph, Andrew, Rebekah and John.
UMKC prayer topics are: 1) Establishing 120 flocks of sheep, 2) Raising 12 Abs and 12 HNW
Teacher and Parent Education (T&PE): Everyone knows that teacher’s role and its quality are the most essential to the students. However, there is one more important element, parents in our spiritual education for our growing children. According to our 30 plus years serving children ministry in Chicago we found that the importance of parent’s influence and their role in order to have successful youth ministry, more likely laying the foundation of spirituality upon their children.
With these two focuses, teacher and parent, we prepared several power-point lectures for both of them. So it is called as “T&PE”. Simply speaking, these lectures talk about what they and their roles are, how to improve their functions and influences, what kind of relationship they have with our life of faith as well as mission as biblical stand point.
