We had our Christmas Worship Service based on a Good news of great joy (Luke 2:10) on December 20th. We learned that though people of the world want to solve the ephemeral problems and pursue instantaneous happiness, God has sent Jesus to solve fundamental problems of the humans and to give eternal happiness. Jesus gives salvation from our sins and death and gives us eternal happiness. 

Historian Luke contrasts the kingship of most powerful Emperor, August Caesar to the one of apparently humble and poor baby Jesus who was born in a manger. However, the birth of Jesus in a manger and his death on the cross and resurrection are the wisdom of God for the salvation of all human beings. Jesus, having come to us in a manger becomes Good news of a great joy for us. Jesus is the Messiah, and the eternal King of kings, who governs us with peace and justice.

We had “Oh Holy night” choir and drama. Humorous drama brought a great laughter to all participants. We prepared delicious Korean and Uruguayan food, fruits, with desert. After eating, we had joyful Christmas dancing through sisters and choir. In total, 16 people participated in.

After Christmas Worship Service, we had leader’s prayer meeting. We thanked Jesus for giving us the joy and peace. For the New Year, we prayed earnestly for each leader to be a shepherd of one sheep. We thanked God who blessed our Christmas Worship service.
