Cape Town UBF Easter

UBF Cape Town held an Easter Bible Academy on March 26-27. Our theme was, “When I see the Blood,” based on Exodus 12.  Two students attended. Also, Shepherd Daniel and Miso Rhee from WITS flew down from Johannesburg to encourage and support our Bible Academy.

This Easter we wanted to remember, celebrate, and participate in the blood of Jesus, our Passover Lamb. In preparation for our academy, we studied an overview of Exodus 1-11 on the previous Sunday. So, on Saturday of the academy, we could focus on our key verse: “The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.” (Exodus 12:13) After group Bible study, each one wrote and shared a Bible testimony. One point that came out is that the blood of Jesus, our Passover Lamb, saved us from the judgment of God. We need to apply Jesus’ blood by faith. Our meditation on Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross prepared our hearts for our communion service on Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday morning, Shepherd Daniel delivered a message based on Luke 8:40-56, with the key verse “Don’t be afraid, just believe.”  Through this message, we were encouraged not to mix our faith with fear even if our situation becomes worse and people give us bad advice. Instead, we need to just believe, trusting in Jesus, who raises the dead. On Sunday afternoon, Shepherd Daniel led communion service based on John 1:29, “Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!”

We thank God for blessing our Easter Bible Academy, helping us to remember, celebrate, and participate in the blood of Jesus, our Passover Lamb.

Our prayer topics are:

  • We thank God for Shepherd Daniel and Miso Rhee, who blessed us with their love and fellowship.
  • We pray for our leaders: brothers Mondli, Surprise and Masingita to grow as disciples of Jesus.
  • We pray for our sisters ministry to grow.
