Dr. Joseph Chung's Testimony
My Garden of Eden, Bethesda Hospital, Uganda
(The missionary life of the past six and a half years)
My family came to serve the poor at Bethesda in Dec 2009. Before I came to Bethesda, God sent Samuel Yoo and Lim Luke to build the Garden of Bethesda. Many people came to rest in the Word of God and recover from their sickness here. My Coworker, Esther Chung served the poor as a Bible Teacher and Gardener at the Blessed Bethesda Garden. I served early morning prayer in this blessed Garden, after which I treated children patients and had bible study with young people in the afternoon. They came to God humbly despite my lack of English and had patience to study the Bible with me. I believe one Word of God was planted in them.
In the past six and a half years, I have had a beautiful relationship of love with fellow missionaries and natives who serve together in happy days in this Blessed Garden. As I think about it now this certainly is the Garden of Eden that God made. This has been a time to get back to where we have been grateful to God, who has bestowed His great grace through His Son Jesus. May God’s grace be returned with Praise and Glory to Him.
I am thankful to God for his co-workers, Ugandan children, and Bible students to love and pray for. I hope this Garden will continue to grow and develop the core values of Bethesda and to be filled with God’s vision.
Peace in God until we meet again. Amen
