N. America Mid-Atlantic Region UBF Staff Conference
The 2017 Mid-Atlantic Region Staff Conference was held January 12-14 with the theme, “Look Forward to the Day of God,” hosted by Paul and Faith Sambuco of Baltimore I UBF. More than 35 coworkers from as far as Alabama and Georgia gathered at the beautiful Sandy Cove Retreat Center at the Chesapeake Bay to study the word of God and to share fellowship in Christ. The main message from 2 Peter 3 was delivered by Dr. Ezra Cho to remind us the hope of Jesus’ Second Coming and what to do as we look forward to the day. A special lecture “What the Bible Says about Creation and Why It Matters” by Dr. Todd Beall (adjunct professor of Liberty University) stimulated us to think about creation with a literal view of Genesis.
Several new ministries participated in the conference (Princeton, Baltimore III, Dream & Joy, and William & Mary). Representatives from 15 UBF chapters in the region shared the work of God in 2016 and their prayer topics for 2017, including:
- Atlanta (Esther Yun)
- Auburn (Eunice Oh)
- Baltimore I (Faith Sambuco)
- Baltimore III (Andrew Park)
- Charlottesville (Chris Kelly)
- Cornerstone (David Yun)
- Dream & Joy (David Park)
- George Mason University (David Chung)

- Philadelphia (Moses Noh)
- Princeton (Sam A. Lee)

The closing message “Be Shepherds of God’s Flock” (1 Peter 5)) was delivered by Paul Sambuco. Prayer topics were shared by Daniel Y. Lee (Regional Coordinator) and the benediction by Pastor Jacob Lee.
The region’s prayer topics for 2017 are:
- For our coworkers to be faithful shepherds of God’s flock as we look forward to the day of God
- We may raise up disciples as Jesus did through our faithful Bible studies with them and by setting good examples for them
- We may continue to cherish our partnership/friendship in the Lord, through communications and prayers for one another
- God may bless us to reach out to new campuses in the Mid-Atlantic region
- For our Summer Bible Conference at James Madison University (July 20-23, 2017)
