"He says: 'It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Isreal I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.' " (Is. 49:6)

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Phil. 4:4)

Dear all,

Praise God for his gracious world salvation work! Praise God for sending his missionaries all over the world.

We are very grateful for the first UBF missionaries who came to Germany as nurses 48 years ago. In the course of time, God has sent many more, esp. student missionaries. Two of them have been Lukas and Lydia Kim. Combined, the two have served God in Germany for more than 60 years! They both have earned their PhD. And they have been among the most faithful, hard-working coworkers in Cologne 1 UBF.

Today, they have left us "for good." On Sunday, they shared their much abbreviated life testimonies, giving all glory and praise to God. Dr. Lydia Kim's key verse is Phil. 4:4. After suffering from a stroke, she lost some of the joy of missionary life. And she wants that joy to be rekindled in her heart and life. Dr. Lukas Kim's key verse is Is. 49:6. He prays to let the light of God shine from his life all the more.

They both will stay in Korea for 3 months of English language study. Later, they will go to Toronto for a practical application. After that, their plan is to go to Sweden where Dr. Lukas Kim is invited for a series of lectures at Stockholm University. For ten years, they have been praying to pioneer Finland, and if God opens the door, they will go. On a different move, they will go to Africa after retirement.

Please, pray for their unceasing missionary vision and for their health. May God guide them with His Holy Spirit.

Thank you very much.

In Jesus' love,

Walter
