Jacob Lee's 2017 UBF World Mission Department Committee Report, UBF HEADQUARTER
THEREFORE GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)
God used UBF as missionary sending ministry for last 56 years. The world mission has been a core value of UBF because mission is God’s heart desire to bless all people of the earth when God called Abraham to fulfill his world mission plan. (Gen 12:3) Jesus commissioned all Christians to go and make disciples of all nations. (Matt. 28:19) Therefore, it is our obligation to obey Jesus’ Great commission to preach the gospel to all nations. We have a prayer topic to send 100,000 missionaries. Currently, there is no comprehensive program to implement this prayer topic. Recently, missionary sending slowed down significantly challenging our core value of missionary sending.
Several months ago, Pastor Abraham Kim asked me to serve as the world mission department chair and international coordinator. At first, I was reluctant because I am in the retirement age. At the same time, I recognize the importance of the world mission command of Jesus and the need to revive UBF missionary sending program. I accepted his request to serve HQWMD chair.
The main purpose of UBFWMD is to assist UBF general director to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus by sending missionaries. The goal of the UBFWMD is to mobilize, recruit, train, and send missionaries to make disciples of all nations. UBFWMD will function as UBF mission agency.
