I am a child of God

Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”

Hello! My name is Jung Iustin Nagwon. I am 9 years old. I was born in 2009 in a Christian family. I have a happy childhood with parents who love me a lot. Since I was very little my parents read me stories from the Bible. But until I was about 6 years old I wasn’t participating in the whole SWS because I liked more to play upstairs or to watch cartoons. However, since I was 6 I started to stay through the whole SWS because I started to enjoy listening to my father preaching. After SWS I asked a lot of questions to him related to the message. So my father started to have Bible study with me every week. Slowly I realized that I was a sinner as all people and I did many mistakes. Sometimes I disobey my parents, I fight with my sister and I caused some trouble in school. I felt guilty about this. From the Bible, I learned that God loves me, but my sins break my relationship with Him. But Jesus died on the cross for my sins. When I understood that, I repented for my sins and I received Jesus as my Savior.

I like to talk about God. In my old school, I used to tell my colleagues stories from the Bible. Sometimes I was coming with the proposal to play church with them. I remember that in Philosophy class we learned about the most known religions. When we talked about Christianity our teacher asked what faith is. I answered that true faith is when someone does not only go to church but when someone truly believes that God is our Creator and that Jesus died for our sins and forgave us. Many times kids made fun of my faith, but I continued to tell them the truth that I learned from the Bible.

This year I moved to a Christian school. I feel much better there because I am surrounded by faithful people and in school, we learn also about God. Every 2 weeks we have to memorize a Bible verse that I enjoy also reciting in our SWS. Among the verses that I learned I like the most Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” From this verse, I learn that all things are perishing but the word of God is eternal. I pray to live by obeying His word until the end.

Since last year I told my parents I want to get baptized but they said to pray more and to be more confident in my faith. I am sure of my decision and I pray that through baptism I may confess in front of the world that I want to live as a child of God and that Jesus is my Savior. I pray to be a good witness and I pray to grow as a missionary as a dad.
