Monterey is the capital city of Nuevo León and is the second largest city in Mexico with a population of about 7 million. The altitude is 540m.

The climate is subtropical. Summer is hot with low humidity, so it is cool in the shade. In winter it goes 13 degrees Celsius on average. Kia Motors factory, LG refrigerator and washing machine factory are located here.

Because it is only 200 km away from the US, there are many American tourists.

The Bible study (CME) was very gracious. We studied Ephesians Lesson 1 (2/26), Ephesians Lesson 2 (2/27), and Galatians Chapter 5 (2/28).

Here, Monterey I (Bernabe Kim, Josefina Kim) and Monterrey II (Joshua Lee, Ruth Lee, Anna Choi) attended CME. In the past, they have not associated closely, but they came to the  Bible study together at 10:00 am and at 12:30 pm with eating fellowship thereafter. It was a good time for them.

On Friday, March 1, I went to the Saltillo UBF, which is 2 hours away. At this time, missionary Timothy Rhee from Guadalajara came with his wife and encouraged Shepherd Pedro Vera.

On March 2, we shared our dinner at Monterrey II and shared testimonies from  6 pm.

Missionary Bernabe Kim shared his 10-page repentant testimony.

He came to Monterrey in 1999 and was stressed very much because of  difficulties in self - supporting. He confessed that he often got mad to his wife and family in lack of spiritual power. Though two new missionaries joined to the ministry, he could not bear them and sent them out to pioneer another chapter. Now, the two house churches decided to gather every morning to pray together. Missionary Joshua Lee said that through Ephesians  chapter 1 study, he could renew God’s calling as a missionary. In the future, the two chapters will have Christmas worship service and Summer conference jointly together.

Prayer Topics

1) God may give powerful messages to Berabe Kim and Joshua Lee.

2) God may raise two ancestors of faith in each chapter.

3) God may help two chapter directors to love one another and establish a loving community.

Monterey은 누에보레온 주의 수도이며 인구가 약 700만dl 되는 멕시코에서 크기가 2위가 되는 도시 입니다. 고도 540m입니다.

기후은 아열대성 기후이고 여름은 덥지만 습도가 낮아 그늘에서는 시원하고, 겨울은 평균 섭씨 13도 라고 합니다. 한국의 기아 자동차 공장과 LG 냉장고, 세탁기 공장이 이곳에 있습니다.

미국에서 200km 밖에 안 되므로 미국 관광객이 많다고 합니다.

CME  말씀공부는 26(화) 에베소서 1강, 27일에는 에베소서 2강, 28일에는 갈라디아서 5장 공부을 매우 은혜스럽게 하였습니다.

이곳에서는 Monterrey 1부(Bernabe Kim, Josefina Kim ) 와 Monterrey 2부 (Joshua Lee, Ruth Lee, Anna Choi )가 같이 CME 공부에 참석 했습니다. 그간 거의 교제가 없었던 두 지부가 같이 오전 10시에  모여 말씀 공부하고 12시 30분에는 같이 식사 fellowship을 가져서 동역자 간에 대화와 좋은 교제의 시간이 되었습니다.

3월 1일 금요일에는 2시간 거리에 있는 Saltillo UBF 을 심방했습니다. 이때에  Guadalajara 에서 오신 Timothy Rhee부부가 같이 심방하여 Pedro Vera목자에게 힘을 주었습니다.

3월 2일에는 Monterrey 2부에서 저녁 식사와 오후 6시에 소감을 은혜스럽게 나누었습니다.  

Bernabe Kim선교사님은 10 페이지의 회개의 소감을 써서 발표 했습니다.

1999년에 Monterrey에 와서 힘든 자립을 하느라고  많은 스트레스를 받고 영력이 부족하여 자기 동역자와 가족에게 분을 자주 내었다고 합니다. 두 선교사가  왔으나 감당할 수 없어서 개척하도록 내 보냈다고 합니다.

이제 두 부부가 매일 새벽기도를 하여 개척 역사를 위해서 기도하겠다고 했습니다.

Joshua Lee 선교사님은 에베소서 1장을 통해 선교사로서 부르심을 새롭게하고 확신을 갖게 되었다고 합니다.

앞으로는 두 지부가 성탄 예배와 여름수양회도 같이 연합하여 드리기로 했습니다.
