Thank God at UBF Caracas we had our first Bible Conference focused on young university students. It was from Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th, August. About 100 participants including 35 guests young students and some recent graduates.

The title of the Conference was "Él es Suficiente" (He is enough) # I will not fear. Based on Psalm 23. The key verse was 1 "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing." With Jesus Christ our good shepherd, nothing will be lack. He gives us true rest, guides our life, gives us true protection and joy in the midst of the storm. This is possible because He was the perfect sacrifice on the cross. Only in Him we can find the complete forgiveness of our sins and eternal life.

 

I thank God because in this conference our young leaders delivered spiritual messages with conviction and spiritual power. They were Oswaldo (Psalm 23), Ciro (Lk 15: 1-7), Ellana (Jn 4: 1-29, 39-42), Jose (Jn 10: 10-16), Holiver (Jn 19: 16-42), Dannys (Mt 11: 25-30), and Hemmder (Mr 3: 13-19). Also the testimonies of life were very sincere and showed repentance and spiritual conversion: María (Biology), Leonardo (Music), Gianeyla (Customs), Leonardo (Materials Engineering), Norelbys from UBF Merida (Art History), Oswaldo from UBF Merida (Cinema). Also our brother Wade (UBF Humber, Canada) shared his testimony on Sunday. There were excellent artistic expressions such as drama of the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan Woman, Youth Musical, Theater, Venezuelan typical dance, and various videos, the grace of God was manifested in all of them.

 

On Saturday about 15 young people accepted the altar call to repent of their sins before the cross of Jesus and accept Christ as Lord. On Sunday ten of them accepted the call to discipleship. Four days later, Bible studies were conducted for the brothers who received grace and for the glory of God, ten of them attended. Please pray so that we can maintain the spiritual encourage and be diligent shepherds who take care for the sheep with the Word, service and prayer.

 

I am especially grateful to God because our leaders continue to grow with a pastoral heart for the work of God. Although only two months ago I receive a surgery and I could not move much, the leaders and young collaborators assumed with responsibility and faith all the tasks to carry out this spiritual festival (Biblical Studies, Stationery, Audiovisual, Sound, Logistics in the place, Food, Choir and Praise, Administration, Costume, Decoration, etc). Thanks to all the UBF brothers around the world who pray for us in times of tribulation that our country is going through. God continues to do his work among us and I am sure that we can move forward thanks to your prayers. In two weeks we will have a new Bible meeting for families and students who could not participate in the first meeting. We ask you to pray to continue to raise disciples of Jesus through the Bible Study and training.

Gracias a Dios en UBF Caracas tuvimos nuestro primer Encuentro Bíblico enfocado en jóvenes universitarios. Fue desde el jueves 14 al domingo 20 de agosto. Asistieron 35 invitados, jovenes universitarios y recién graduados. El título de la Conferencia fue "Él es Suficiente" #No temeré. Basado en Salmos 23. El versículo clave fue el 1 "El Señor es mi pastor, nada me faltará" Con Jesucristo nuestro buen pastor, nada nos faltará. Él nos da el verdadero descanso, guía nuestra vida, nos da verdadera protección y gozo en medio de la tormenta. Esto es posible porque Él fue el sacrificio perfecto en la cruz. Él es suficiente para encontar el completo perdón de nuestros pecados y la vida eterna. 

 

Agradezco a Dios porque en esta conferencia nuestros jóvenes líderes entregaron los mensajes espirituales con convicción y poder espiritual. Ellos fueron Oswaldo Bolívar (Salmos 23), Ciro Ramírez (Lc 15:1-7), Ellana Pontón de Vivas (Juan 4:1-29, 39-42), Jose Juan Vivas (Jn 10:10-16), Holiver Hurtado (Jn 19:16-42), Dannys Fuentes (Mt 11:25-30), y Hemmder Álvarez (Mr 3:13-19). También los testimonios de vida fueron muy sinceros y mostraron el arrepentimiento y la conversión espiritual: María Fernanda Rojas (Biología), Leonardo Angulo (Música), Gianeyla Ramirez (Aduanas), Leonardo Córdoba (Ingeniería Materiales), Norelbys Cermeño (Historia del Arte), Oswaldo Cermeño (Cine). También nuestro hermano Wade Morrison (UBF Humber, Canada) compartió su testimonio el día domingo. Hubo excelentes expresiones artísticas tales como drama del encuentro entre Jesús y la Mujer Samaritana, Musical Juvenil, Teatro, Danza típica Venezolana, y Videos varios, con los que se manifestó la gracia de Dios. El día sábado alrededor de 15 jóvenes aceptaron el llamado al altar a arrepentirse de sus pecados ante la cruz de Jesús y  aceptar a Cristo como Señor. El día domingo diez aceptaron el llamado al discipulado. Cuatro días después se realizaron estudios bíblicos para los hermanos que recibieron la gracia y para la gloria de Dios asistieron diez de ellos. Por favor les pedimos oración para que podamos mantener el ánimo espiritual y ser pastores diligentes que cuiden a las ovejas con la Palabra, el servicio  y la oración.

 

Especialmente estoy muy agradecido a Dios porque nuestros líderes siguen creciendo con corazón pastoral por la obra de Dios. Aunque hace solo dos meses que fui operado y no pude moverme mucho, los líderes y jóvenes colaboradores asumieron con responsabilidad y fe todas las tareas para llevar adelante esta fiesta espiritual (Estudios Bíblicos, Papelería, Audiovisuales, Sonido, Logísitica en el lugar, Alimentación, Coro y Alabanzas, Administración, Vestuario, Decoración, etc).

Gracias a todos los hermanos de UBF alrededor del mundo que oran por nosotros en tiempos de tribulación que atraviesa nuestro país. Dios sigue haciendo su obra entre nosotros y estoy seguro que podemos avanzar gracias a sus oraciones. Dentro de dos semanas tendremos un nuevo encuentro bíblico para familias y estudiantes que no pudieron participar en el primer encuentro.
