J*oshua Ham, a missionary from Guatemala, gave a presentation on “The Current State of Korean Language Education in Public Elementary Schools in Guatemala” at a seminar where the Korean Ambassador and the Minister of Education of Guatemala attended last week.
Korean language education began 20 years ago to serve the history of the National University in Guatemala. Since 2014, we began to work for Korean education in order to serve campus ministry through inviting students and for self-supporting through King Sejong Institute. Classes started in 2020 at 10 public elementary schools in cooperation with the Korean embassy and the Korean Ministry of Education. From next year, the program will be expanded to middle schools. We pray that the program may be used for the campus ministry and self-support work.
