(USA) Minneapolis UBF had a 2021 Christmas Worship Service on the Theme of God's Glory
By S*pencer Luebben
The focus of our 2021 Christmas Worship Service was to look deeply into John 1, especially verse 14: "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." Through this passage, we wanted to think about how Jesus' coming into this world reveals the glory of God to us, especially in the grace and truth that we experience from Jesus personally. The main message delivered by Dr. S*pencer Luebben helped us to ask the question, "What is glory?" We came to see that glory is the spontaneous, wholehearted praise that we want to heap upon whatever is supremely worthy in our sight! We then thought about how Christ's coming into this world was the next step in God's redemptive plan to show us his glory to unprecedented levels.
The reflection sharers were each asked to share about how they had each experienced God's grace and truth through Jesus. Aside from this, our members also participated in a special choir music with the title "Glory in the Highest". For those who joined in person (we had many online attendants too!), we shared a delicious meal afterward.
