On July 13-15, 2022, Chicago HBF held a summer retreat at Fox River Resort in Sheridan, Illinois, with 23 attendants from Chicago HBF, Triton HBF, and Almaty, Kazakhstan HBF. The title of the retreat was "Lord, Teach Us to Pray" with a focus on teaching young people how to pray from prayer warriors, prophet Daniel and Queen Esther, Jesus’ teaching his disciples the Lord’s Prayer, and Paul’s admonition to pray continually. There were 4 messages, 2 group Bible studies, testimony writing and sharing, Daily Bread in the mornings, prayer activities after the messages, a BBQ, and wonderful fellowship while swimming, playing sports, eating at country restaurants, and hiking at Starved Rock State Park. The messengers were I*re Suh (Daniel 6:1-28), J*ohn Lee (Mt 6:5-14), Y*vonne Lee (Esther 4:1-17), and W*illiam Magardician (1 Th 5:16-18). HBF Coordinator S*teven Lee served the messengers and program development. H*annah Albright and T*heresa Jung led praise; E*sther Kim, D*aniel Min, and J*oshua Jung, Jr., were group Bible study leaders; and J*ane Kim developed the logo design. All students participated wholeheartedly and fostered a godly, loving community. M*aria and A*nastasia Ugay from Almaty, Kazakhstan joined our retreat and enlarged our vision to pray for world mission. Thank God for helping our teenagers to learn to pray and to grow as Jesus’ disciples.
