(USA) Pastor Mark Vucekovich Elected as Senior Pastor of Chicago UBF
Pastor Mark Vucekovich was elected as the new senior pastor of Chicago UBF on July 12, 2022, with a 94% approval rate. In May, the Senior Pastor Search Committee advertised the position. Two candidates, Pastor Mark Vucekovich of Lincoln Park UBF and Chicago UBF Associate Pastor Kevin Albright, applied and were approved by the search committee to be interviewed by the Senior Pastor Selection Committee. On July 2, after much prayerful discussion with input from the UBF General Director Moses Yoon, the committee selected Pastor Mark as the nominee to be voted on by the general membership. From July 5-12, Chicago UBF members had the opportunity to approve or disapprove of Pastor Mark. 76% of the membership voted in the election. On August 12, when Pastor Ron Ward will be inaugurated as the new general director, Pastor Mark will become the acting senior pastor. He will give his first Sunday message on August 21. At its annual meeting in February, the North American Representative Members will vote to confirm Pastor Mark as the new senior pastor. Please pray for him and his wife Kathy as they adjust to their new role. His key verse is Mark 10:45: “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
The congregation in Chicago UBF is grateful for Pastor Kevin’s stewardship, humility, and sacrificial life, without which the ministry would not have flourished as it has. Both Pastor Mark and Pastor Kevin commented that, with God’s help, they will work together in his love to bring unity and revival to the ministry. In addition, we humbly acknowledge and are indebted to many precious prayer servants around the world who have been praying earnestly for this matter. We felt the power of your prayers and experienced deeply in our souls the conviction that God's will is being done.
