(JAPAN) Japan UBF Experienced the Mighty Power of Prayer at Their 2022 Summer Bible Conference
By D*aniel Jeong
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." James 5:16
I am deeply grateful to God for the UBF summer Bible conference in Japan. We learned and experienced the power of prayer and are growing as men and women of prayer. 116 people from all 15 chapters in Japan UBF attended the hybrid retreat held from August 12-14, 2022. 21 from CBF (Childrens) and JBF (Juniors) attended a separate program with the theme "God the Creator."
In his opening message, M*oses Hong spoke on Mark 1:35, “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." The first main lecture was titled “Persevering Prayer” based on Luke 18:1-17 by M*isaki Mizuhara. The second main lecture was given by M*aya Shindo. She witnessed the “Prayer of Forgiveness” (Luke 23:26-56) very graciously. She could not forgive her mother for a while, but when she learned about the love of Jesus on the cross, she could forgive her mother. As her testimony, she studied the Bible with her mother, father, and six other Bible students. The third main lecture was delivered by A*braham Noji about the power of prayer based on James 5:1-20. In the special program "Night of Prayer," Y*ohan Kang, E*sther Choi, and Y*echan Park had a symposium on the prayers of Elijah, Hannah, and Daniel. There was a strong typhoon in Japan on the day of the mini concert; but when we prayed, God calmed the typhoon, so we could hold the concert.
We thank God that we could look back on our prayer life through the conference and make the decision to pray always. God answered the prayers of the messengers and symposium speakers, giving them strength to overcome many personal difficulties. Many people from all over the world prayed for and served this summer conference, and I am deeply grateful for them.
One word: God answers prayers by saving lives and performing miracles
