KIMNET Conference Report

The title of the conference was “Missionary Leadership Development Forum.” It was held in Angeles, the Philippines on November 28-30, 2023. I attended this conference as one of the efforts to share what we (UBF) are doing with the larger body of Christ and can learn from them.

Upon arriving at Angeles on Nov 24, M. Daniel and Rebekah H. welcomed me. They came to the Philippines 13 years ago and, serve the ministry there in Angeles. They gave me the privilege to attend their worship service and deliver a message. They also attended the KIMNET conference with me. So 3 of us participated in this conference. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, “A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

At the conference, there were about 20 lecturers and 100 Korean pastors and missionaries from the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Korea, USA, Africa, Australia, and so on. It was done in Korean.

Pastor Samuel C., the director of this conference, invited me as one of the lecturers as a representative of UBF. After prayer, I decided to speak about the servant leadership of our Lord Jesus Christ. The title of my lecture was, “Three spiritual paradigm shifts.” It was well received. I also introduced UBF as a missionary church that sent out 1,500 professional missionaries to 90 nations of the world. I told them, “UBF may stand for U Become Friends.” After the lecture, I was able to make friends with a wide spectrum of missionaries, pastors, college presidents, and so on.

One pastor shared a statistic that out of 8 billion people in the world, only 20% are born-again Christians and 80% are not. Therefore, he shared his mission strategy that Jesus’ world mission command may be fulfilled if each born-again Christian shares the gospel with at least 4 people. I believe that this is a very simple and workable mission strategy and prayer topic for all Christians.
