A HOUSE CHURCH LIKE PRISCILLA AND AQUILA

"Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my coworkers in Christ Jesus. They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. Greet also the church that meets at their house." (Romans 16:3-5)

On June 14, at 3 p.m., in the Chicago UBF Center, there was a beautiful wedding ceremony uniting Ben West, of St. Louis UBF, and Rebekah Kim, of Minnesota UBF. Pastor Ron Ward presided over the wedding and delivered a message based on Romans 16:3-5, as prayer for them to be a house church, like Priscilla and Aquila.

Rebekah Kim is the second daughter of Pastor Abraham T. Kim, the General Director of UBF. When her parents went to America as missionaries, Rebekah could not obtain a visa, and from age 7 to 12, she lived in Korea with her grandparents. While studying in dental school, Rebekah dedicated her life to God and taught the Bible to many students. She prayed to marry a man of God who could help her serve campus ministry. Ben West is the oldest son of three children. His God-fearing parents taught him the Bible and homeschooled him. While attending Washington University, he met Missionary Mary Choi. Ben committed his life to serving Jesus’ discipleship ministry. He also brought his brother Luke to UBF. After the wedding, Ben will move to Minnesota, where he obtained an engineering job. Please pray for them to grow as an exemplary house church for campus ministry.

During the festivities, both fathers performed special music for the new couple. After vows were exchanged, Ben’s father, Kit West, played the guitar and sang a song that he composed based on 1 Corinthians 13, including a verse in Korean. During the reception in the center, Pastor Abraham also played the guitar and sang his own version of Edelweiss, expressing his love for Rebekah, who is his daddy’s girl.
