Seattle UBF, USA
May 9, 2014

In 2005 Dr. Philip won came to UW (University of Washington) as a PhD student. He was alone and served Sunday worship service in front of 4 empty chairs for many months. By God’s grace he established a house church with Msn. Hannah Lee in 2006. Msn. Livingston Park’s family joined Seattle ministry as well. They lived next door in the same apartment. They lived like a family and worked together to serve students with campus visits, prayer meetings and many times eating fellowships. Many students came and studied the Bible with them.

In 2007 they held the first joint Summer Bible conference with Portland UBF. In 2008 Msn. Abraham Song’s family joined Seattle ministry. They had served USC (University of Sothern California) for 8 years before coming to Seattle. God blessed Seattle UBF and sent many Bible students, Sarah, Trevor, Jolene, Paul, Jeff, Chris, and Cade. In 2009 with some growing Bible students they had spring Bible academy and fall Bible academy. Shepherdess Sarah Leingang delivered a message based on John 4 at the fall Bible academy. Missionary Abraham Omoding came to Seattle as a short term missionary form Uganda and as a research fellow at the UW. He brought his friends to Bible studies and worship services. His pure heart, happy face, love for the word of God, and zeal for serving God encouraged us and challenged us at the same time. He stayed in Seattle for one and half years.

In 2011 God brought Shep. Ben and Dr. Maria to Seattle. In the same year they had the first northwest regional Summer Bible Conference. A total of 31 people from four chapters joined the conference: Seattle (3 families), Tri-Cities, WA (Dr. Abraham Jung’s family), Victoria, Canada (Msn. Joshua Park’s family), and Vancouver, Canada (Dr. John Kim’s family). Dr. Abraham Omoding and Peace shared their life testimonies. In 2012 God gave Msn. Philip an assistant professor position at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. God used Msn. Philip Won’s family in Seattle for about six years and sent his family again to pioneer UT.

We had another northwest regional summer Bible conference with Pastor Mark Vucekovich and Msn. Isaac Kim. 29 people attended from Seattle, Alaska, Tri-cities, Victoria, and Vancouver. It was a wonderful conference. Everybody contributed one way or another. The conference itself demonstrated how much they loved and cared for each other. God sent Shep. Moses Cho to Seattle. He was accepted to a master program in chemical engineering at UW. He had helped us to register our ministry as a campus club and to rent a class room so that we could do Sunday worship service on campus. After finishing his program for 1 year, he was accepted to a PhD program from KAIST in Korea. Not long after he went to Korea, God sent another shepherd from Washing DC. Shep. Joe Park came to Seattle to work with a nonprofit organization which helps people with special needs. He was a teacher. But He wanted to experience and develop his skills to help people with special needs. He became an encouragement for us because he didn’t pursue money and his career. Rather he wanted to learn really how to help people who need special care. He will stay with us for a couple of months more. He prays to go back to teaching. God sent Dr. Park from Korea a month ago. She smiles always and has a very positive attitude. Her presence and willingness to serve campus mission with us has been God’s gift. We have Sunday worship services presided by Isaac Song (begin college this year), led by Abraham Song and Benjamin alternatively with group Bible study and short message. The attached picture is from last Sunday Worship service with a few guests.

Thanks,
Abraham Song
