PREACH THE WORD

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction.” (2 Timothy 4:2)

It came to my mind what God wants us to do in these last days. When I think of our annual key verse, I read 2 Timothy, chapter 4 in a different perspective. The Bible has many encouraging words about the love of God and Jesus’ grace. However, Apostle Paul charges Timothy his spiritual son in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, the Lord of judgment, in a very strong tone, saying, “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction.” This teaches us that preaching the Word of God is not some elective course, but rather a mandatory course for a servant of God to fulfill absolutely. "Be prepared in season and out of season" means that we must be prepared always. This verse tells us that we must correct, rebuke and encourage people not with anger or hastiness but with great patience and a careful attitude (careful instruction).

I vowed to God that I would go to college to pray and preach the gospel after work every day for 10 years if only God might answer our prayer for Joseph Jeon’s family visa issues and show us a miracle. How much have I lived an easy-going and lazy life in this slow and peaceful Canada so that I had to vow for what a missionary must do as a missionary? However, God showed us a miracle. Therefore, it's now my turn to fulfill my vow from my heart. I have started visiting Algonquin College after work almost every day and have prayed and tried to fish sheep and prepare the Sunday message since the end of 2013. Of course, our female coworkers have already been doing this job every day coming to the school. I pray that all Algonquin UBF leaders may bear in mind this annual key verse 2 Timothy 4:2 this year and live as preachers of the gospel of Jesus!

• Prayer Topics:
1. May our ministry be a people who love Jesus, people who love Bible and people who love each other!
2. May God enable us to engage in preaching the word of God and to have 1:1 Bible study teams more than the number of Sunday service attendants! (18 SWS and 20 1:1).
3. May God raise one Canadian shepherd family who can succeed the Algonquin Ministry in 10 years.
