1 Corinthians 4:10-12 “We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.”
St. Paul says, “The children of God always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” To be the state of the life of Jesus may be revealed in our body, which means to testify that we live in the eternal life as a witness of Jesus’ resurrection can be distinguished whether people always carry around in their body the death of Jesus. Therefore, those who were born again by the grace of God and live a new life in Christ, indeed go through the process of the sufferings of the death of their old self. If there is no death of Jesus, which means the cross of Jesus in the life of the children of God, there is no life of Jesus. Likewise, the sufferings we always carry around in our body are primary that the death of old self is to be actualized the fact of the cross of Jesus while we live in the world.
Last several days, I went through hardships due to the side-effect of the chemo treatment. Nowadays, I get much better feelings. My first cycle treatment will be done in 2 weeks. It has been going successfully so far as my doctor’s say. After the results of the first cycle treatment my doctor will decide for the next treatments. May God help me overcome sufferings in me in confidence that the life of Jesus has been revealing in my mortal body through the process of the sufferings of the death of my old self. The chemo treatments kill not only cancer cells but also good cells. Then there are extreme pains, sufferings. But, no pain, no gain! No death, no resurrection! The source of life, Jesus gives us a new life. He creates new healthy cells in me after the process of dying. So then, death is at work in me, but life is also at work in me. Praise Jesus, the life of the world!
