12 chapters of Japan UBF Had a Summer Conference
Have Faith in God
Mark 11: 22, 23 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
Thank God for blessing our Japan SBC abundantly and growing our faith in God. I am so grateful for P. Abraham Kim and all UBF family’s love and prayer support.
Our joint SBC with 12 chapters out of 14 was held Aug 16-18 at YMCA near Huji mount and a total number of 101 people attended, including 47 CBF & JBF.
The main lecture I messenger, John Jr. (Mk 11), delivered his message gracefully. He is the first 2nd gen born in Japan, serving music, CBF, and JBF faithfully. Please, pray for him to have a personal close relationship with Jesus. Symposium was followed by Sindo Maya and 2nd gens (David Jun, Samuel Jung, Sarah Kim), entitled, “Legacy of faithful ancestors.” Sister Sindo has studied the Bible for six years and she loved Abraham’s faith. Recently, she learned and experienced Abraham’s faith through an accident where she almost died, riding a bike that got hit by a car. While recovering from her accident, she studied the Bible sincerely and grew in faith. God blessed her faith to have a new job with twice the income and available time for 11am SWS. During World Mission Night, we watched the Asia video of the 2013 ISBC and prayed for 47 countries in Asia all together.
M. Joshua Lee served main lecture II (Mk 15) gracefully. We received Jesus’ love on the cross and especially two life testimony speakers, Danaka Akiko & Ojawa Humiko, accepted the love of God deeply. The JBF orchestra concert was wonderful, directed by Naomi who sacrificially devoted in the preparation. After report of 2013 ISBC mission by M. Daniel Jung along with visiting news at Canada, we prayed for the world mission, especially those missionaries who sent out from Japan-Mari Lopez(LA), Matthew Bai(PNG), Peter Lee(Thai), and Nisiyama (Korea).
The main lecture III messenger, Terasaki Abraham (Mk 16), delivered the power of resurrection in Jesus. When he struggled to have resurrection faith in his life, he shared his blessings of accepting a promotion at his workplace and received a child after seven years of marriage. He is serving Daily Bread translation very faithfully, studying Korean. He proclaimed that his success all came from Jesus who is the resurrection and the life.
Personally, I realized that God wanted us to have faith in God. As soon as I completed the flight ticket to attend 2013 ISBC, I got a sudden call that the Japan ambassador would visit my school on Aug 1. Because I was going to be the vice principle of the school in Oct., I should attend during the ambassador’s visit. However, I could not let the opportunity of ISBC go away either. When I asked for prayer support and prayed earnestly, God listened to our prayers and made the ambassador’s visit postponed after September. Hallelujah! After attending ISBC and having conversations with missionaries, I realized what really matters was not the difficult situations where many one-family-based mission field in Japan seemed to fall into its own grave, but was actually our lack of faith. God wants us to have faith in Him. When we obey him, God always gives us victory of faith in Jesus. I am brokenhearted whenever I see M. Tomas Kang who worked for God from the beginning of the mission in Japan. I fear whenever doctors tell us how serious his illness is. However, I have decided to have faith in God.
I give many thanks to those who served our SBC wholeheartedly, especially, Joshua Lee (served morning devotion), Joshua Lim (orchestra), Chungsin Han couple (children care).
