Samuel Hajoon Yang Was Born!
Philadelphia UBF
June 7, 2013
Greetings! I just want to let you know our current situation, acknowledging the answers to your prayer and God's grace upon our family.
First, by God's grace a baby boy, Samuel Hajoon (Hajoon means 'God prepared: the one who God has prepared' according to Jeremiah 1:5) Yang was born on May 8, 2013. He weighs 9.5 pounds with 22 inches. Both mom (Rebekah Yang) and a baby are healthy. We are thankful for God's grace and love for us. He is the first boy in our family (we have three girls) and brings great joy to us. My prayer is that he may grow a man of God like Samuel who stood firmly in the words of God while serving his people with shepherd heart and like Jeremiah who boldly proclaimed the truth of God to his people during the dark time of Israel's history. I also acknowledge that God has been with us in the good and bad times through prayers of people like you.
Second, my family moved into Philadelphia area because I got an assistant professor position at West Chester University of Pennsylvania (WCU). WCU locates 25 miles west from Philadelphia. We moved into Plymouth Meeting in PA to join Philadelphia UBF where Dr. Moses and M. Rebekah Noah are serving. During our stay in Charleston (South Carolina) we received much grace from God. First, I could complete my dissertation and graduate and get a Ph.D. degree in Manufacturing and Technology Management. Second, we received green cards. Third, I could deeply meditate on God's holy words through weekly Sunday messages. Fourth, we could have a baby boy, Samuel. During the seemingly difficult time due to my unemployment last year, God has prepared good things for us in advance. When the time of discipline is over, God has poured out his blessing after blessing. We may humbly witness His grace to college students including Univ. of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Drexel University, and West Chester University.
We have joined Philadelphia UBF from late March of 2013. We pray that we may humbly and diligently co-work with Philadelphia UBF coworkers to serve God-given campus mission. We thank you for your prayer and love.
In Christ,
Mark & Rebekah Yang
