Nantes UBF Spring Conference
Nantes UBF, France
June 6, 2013
Praise God who blessed our 2 days 2013 Spring Bible Conference. 13 people attended this conference (4 coworkers, 3 second gen, 1 second gen’s friend and 5 Bible students). Among them, Min-Kyoung, Ji-Young, David and Anne attended our Bible academy and Christmas Worship Service last year. Since some month, God created a good friendship and unity among us with this 4 people. We prayed that this conference was a time of fellowship and to listen the word of God, like the disciples when they was with Jesus. The title of the conference was: “Fischer of men”. We had a meeting at the center Saturday morning and moved together by car to the conference place (2 hours). The conference place is a Christian conference place founded by an evangelical couple 40 years ago with the purpose to preach the gospel to young people during summer camps. They welcomed also Christian group. The place is located near the Atlantic Ocean (1,5 Km). After the lunch, we had Bible study in 2 groups (teenagers and adults). Misn. Christine Aussant served the teenager’s BS group and I served the adults’ BS group. Everybody studded the Bible very sincerely and with a learning heart, even those who studded the Bible for the first time. After BS we went to the sea and had a good fellowship, playing mini-golf together. After the dinner, we had the evening program. Misn. Esther HAN served music with all her heart. The main message was delivered by Misn. Jacob Han: “Fisher of men.” (Luc 5) He delivered a good message in good French. His message was very convincing and invited us to enter more deeply in the spiritual world and have a personal relationship with God. After the message, Min-Kyoung KIM and Ji-Young CHOI shared their life testimonies for the first time. They are a family of young Korean students who study the Bible faithfully since last September. After the Christmas WS last year, they decided to stay in Nantes to cowork with our ministry, and they attended Sunday WS faithfully each week. Ji-Young prepared a PhD in ‘Science of the Language’ in the University of Nantes. Min-Kyoung graduated as an Architect last year and is looking for a job in Nantes. Min-Kyoung testimony’s title was: “I was created at the image of God” (Gn 1.27) He confessed that for a long time he was looking for a good image among men and that his life depended of the other people’s opinion of him and his own opinion of himself. He was slave of human’s consideration and perfection. But he confessed that he was a sinner very imperfect, and accepted himself as he is in front of God and recognized that the most important in him is the image of God. He wanted to search and develop the image of God in his life. Ji-Young CHOI shared her testimony based on Genesis 12.2-3: “You will be a blessing.” She grows up in a Christian family and received a Christian education. But she never founded a clear direction for her life, even as a Christian. Because of that, she was like a wandering soul in the world and had many difficulties to make a decision. She wanted to give her life to God, but didn’t know how. But through her testimony, she repented her wandering life and prayed to be guided by God, like Abraham, and to be a source of blessing for many. Everyone was moved by their testimonies. Even a second gen said: “The testimonies were very good!” After the program, we had a fellowship and friendship playing together to a Board game called “Les Loups-Garous de Tiercelieux”. Sunday morning, after breakfast, we had a quiet time to write “One word I received” based on Luc 5; and at 10H30 we shared our testimony in group. Everybody wrote sincerely and shared freely with other people. Many confessed they wanted to enter more deeply in the spiritual world and in the knowledge of God. After that, we had the Sunday WS with the word “The calmed storm” (Luc 8.22-25) delivered by me. During afternoon, we visited a beautiful aquarium in Saint-Malo, before to come back home.
We are a small community, but by faith and with a great vision we served this conference. It was like our 5 bred and 2 fishes for God. As unworthy servants, we have only done our duty. But, by His grace, God blessed our conference abundantly. Praise God! We pray know to the spiritual growth of Min-Kyoung and Ji-Young. Next week-end, during Sunday WS, we will establish them as shepherd and shepherdess in our ministry. Please, pray for them, to become good co-workers for Nantes UBF. Pray for Anne and David to accept Jesus personally.
