He Has Risen
"'Don't be alarmed,' he said, 'You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.'" Mark 16:6
Thank and praise Jesus who has risen from the dead! We celebrated the risen Jesus through our Easter Retreat at Crieff Hills from March 30 to 31, 2013. God blessed us greatly with our Lord Jesus who died and rose from the dead.
We started the retreat with group Bible study on Mark 16:1-20 followed by ‘ice breakers’, life testimony (Bass R), and passage recitation (Isaac L). Then Joseph M delivered the first message on Mark 16:1-20 with the title, ‘He has Risen,’ and his message revealed the power of resurrection. After dinner, we wrote our testimony and then worshiped the Risen Jesus with the ‘praise and prayer night.’
On Sunday, after sharing our testimony in 2 groups and passage recitation by Timothy P,
David L. delivered Sunday message based on Luke 7:11-17, “Young Man, I say to You, Get up!”
Our Lord Jesus saw the widow’s deep pain, sorrow and told her, ‘Don’t cry!’ Then Jesus said to her dead son in the coffin, ’Young man, I say to you, get up!” Then the dead man got up and was revived. How graceful Jesus was who knew the deepest sorrow in the widow’s heart and made her dead son came back to life; Jesus is life and resurrection. He can give us new life.
Many young people remain in darkness, or deadness in a coffin because of the power of sin and death, though they are healthy physically, but Jesus says, ‘Young man, I say to you, ‘get up.’”
We thank Jesus who speaks to us: ‘Young man, I say to you, get up!’ When we hear Jesus’ words, we could get up from various kinds of darkness and find new life, joy and new strength to serve the Lord, Jesus.
Thank Jesus who is the life and resurrection. May the Lord Jesus also speak to many young people of this generation as we pray and share the gospel.
Thank God for growing all students including 2nd gens in deeper faith and dedication to serve the Lord. Especially, Wade gave all his heart to make a retreat banner title.
We also thank God for working in Merry X. To her, Christianity was very new due to her background, but God opened her heart to accept Jesus and find great joy and love of God. At the retreat, her face was shining because of the life-giving words of God.
May God bless ISBC abundantly and may we all prepare our hearts to grow deeper in the love of Jesus.
