Eph 4:12-13 12-13... to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

As God has been blessing our ministry to grow, we need more grace to maintain unity.  God brings us together for a purpose to bless each other with Christ’s love and prepare God’s chosen people for works of service.  The works of service include all aspects of our lives: from work, to school, to family, among friends, on our campus, in our community, and in our country.  We are called to be God’s servants, to be the stewards of life, taking care of all God’s creations.  We are called to be “masters,” to be great and powerful workers.  There is so much for us to learn in order to be the kind of people God has chosen us to be.  What a great blessing!  What a great challenge as well!  We are all so different and full of weaknesses; how can we reach unity in the faith!  We need Jesus to teach us.  We need the Holy Spirit to guide us.  We need to have the knowledge of the Son of God and the power of His love to glue us together through repentance and forgiveness.  The more we learn to forgive each other, the more we grow in Christ.  The more we value and appreciate each other, the more we love one another in Christ.  The more we serve each other, the better we work as one in Christ.

The cross of mission and the crosses of our own personal responsibilities are often too heavy for anyone to bear.  We need Jesus’ grace if we want to remain in the body of Christ.  Christ has a special purpose for each part of His body: Christ has a purpose for each ministry; Christ has a purpose for each fellowship; Christ has a purpose for each individual.  We don’t need to compare ourselves with others; we only need to be faithful and stay focused on attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ and serve God’s purpose.  Therefore, in the year 2013, we pray that God may change our attitude to be Christ-like, change our thinking to be Christ-centered, and change our hope to be heavenly bound.  We must learn how to pray for each other, take care of each other, listen to each other, forgive each other, and serve each other fully according to Christ's love.  May the Lord bless us to be filled with the spirit of Koinonia – having a love fellowship!
