Prayer Request from Tanzania UBF, Africa
Tanzania UBF, Africa
February 1, 2013
Thursday night around 8:40, Jan. 31, 2013, M. Timothy and I (M. Ezra Jung) were going home after work. A Tanzanian native driver was driving the car, Starex, which is like a minivan. M. Timothy was in the back seat and I was on the front passenger’s side. At the crossroads we stopped at a traffic light. All of a sudden while we were waiting for the traffic signal a robber armed with one AK47 rifle appeared at the front side of our car and shot at us (three bullets through the front window and one bullet through the steel plate on the driver’s seat). Another robber broke into the driver’s side window with a stone, but stole only a lunch box and fled away. After a few minutes, when we came back to our senses and checked our bodies, fortunately no one got hurt. Soon after, however, the crowd around the car turned wild and approached our car and tried to steal anything. We hastily got out and went to the nearest police station to be protected. We are all healthy and safe now.
Thank God who protected us. Through this, M. Timothy made a new decision not to work until 9:00 at night, but spend more time for campus mission. I earnestly ask for your prayer supports so that we may not encounter such things, but serve the campus ministry well and be self-supporting.
