“And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.” Luke 2:1-14
On the December 16, 2012, we celebrated our Christmas service. We prepared this feast with fervent prayer that God might bless the main dish: his Word and the work of the Holy Spirit. And God blessed us greatly with the word of Luke. This time, our Christmas celebration was centered on the manger. As opposed to last year, this time, fewer people came. Fourteen people said they could not come this time around.
But we were full of joy because student sheep came such as Rosa, Carolina, Jennifer, and Edgardo; Norma Delgado, who recently started coming again, and five neighbors of Msn. Daniel and Ana.
It was the first time coming to service for Edgardo, who was brought by Jennifer. He was very happy to hear the message, as Rosa, Shs. Aida’s sheep.
All were on time to hear the message, and we also give thanks to God that the family of Msn. Raul and Shs. Seneyda coworked with us with joy for the glory of God, though their baby was sick.
Shs. Aida prepared the Christmas dance with tears, since her sheep had been impunctual and irresponsible; her suffering, however, bore fruit.
Sh. Juan Carlos and Alex also collaborated well at the last moment and prepared the drama from early on.
What great love is that of our God who sent us his One and Only Son as a baby in a manger, with salvation vision for the world.
