“For God so loved world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (Jn 3:16)

We thank our Lord for blessing the 2012 Christmas worship service abundantly in Mexico City. It was held on December 16 at the Villa Olimpica Auditorium which is ten minutes from CU campus. Through prayer and all coworkers` invitations God sent a total of 430 worshipers. Four chapters joined CU chapter to celebrate the birth of Jesus. They were Cuautitlán (17), IPN (14), Santo Tomás (6), and Queretaro (4).

The worship service started with sing-along worship to prepare the environment and open the hearts of the attendants. After prayer, there was a special music piece (“Trio Sonata”) performed by Msn. Andrés Park (piano), Second Gen. Ye-Eun Hong (violin), and Shep. Rafael (oboe).

The title of the message was “Jesus Is God´s Ultimate Gift” based on John 3:16. It was powerfully delivered by Shep. Sergio Lemus. Through the message we could meditate on how the world has misunderstood and corrupted the meaning of love. We could learn that God showed true love through sending His one and only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, as a ransom for many.

In the second part of the program, the chorus joyfully performed a series of Christmas worship songs entitled “En lo alto Gloria” (Glory in the Highest). It was followed by a beautiful and inspirational presentation of the Mexico City Orchestra which is mainly formed by second gens and growing leaders of CU, Cuahutitlán, IPN, and Santo Tomas chapters.

We were also delighted with a joyful and colorful Mexican dance entitled “Santa Rita”. After it, there was a meaningful play presentation entitled “May Jesus Be Born in Your Heart.” It was written and led by Shep. Lenin Vargas . All those who came enjoyed this program very much since it was not only funny and entertaining but also had a very clear and deep message based on Lk. 2:1-20, Mt. 1:18-2:12, and  Gn. 3 . Through the play we could remember what the true meaning of Christmas is and that God´s ultimate gift for us is Jesus Christ.

In order to prepare this service all coworkers worked wholeheartedly in different ways. Many sacrificial members spent all Saturday at the Bible center preparing 900 Mexican stuffed bread pieces out of love and making lunch boxes to serve the participants properly.

May the Lord bless all Christmas worship services all around the world and may Baby Jesus be born again in the hearts of all worshipers!
