Chongro UBF United Fall Bible Conference 2012, Korea
Chongro UBF, Korea
December 5, 2012
The united Fall Bible conference was held October 10-11 at Cheongpyeong Gwangrim Vision Land Retreat Center. The title of the conference was “The love of David and Jonathan.” We took this title as our spiritual direction to love our co-workers emulating the mysterious love of Jonathan. All Chongro 1, 2, 7, Kwanak 3, Suwon, Hwarang, and Jeongneung 2 UBF’s participated in this conference and total about 370 people attended.
There was a special lecture entitled “The responsibility and attitude of the Korean churches to prepare for the peaceful reunification of Korea” which was delivered by Dr. Moon Young Huh, a security researcher of the Board of National Unification. In his lecture, he asked us to pray for Pyung Yang, the Jerusalem of Asia to return to God in 2015, the 70th year since Korea has been divided in two, and be like a spiritual festival as God let South Judah to return from the Babylon captivity after 70 years.
The first lecture was presented by Sh. Joshua Kim from Kwanak 3 with the title “The mysterious love of Jonathan.” He said that we cannot love like Jonathan if we put our meeting, emotion, and benefits, etc. first in our hearts. He said that we should put Jesus first in the center of our hearts.
The second lecture was delivered by Sh. Caleb Kim from Chongro 1 with the title “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus.” In his lecture, he said that our believing life is like the bungee jump. Right after jumping off, we realize that there is nothing left except an holy inmost being looking up to Jesus. In this way he told us to run the race of faith with pure hearts.
Freshmen from the Mark Team from Kwanak 3 and Chongro UBF led sing-along and dancing. They showed us their spiritual growth through their performances. There was also a gracious testimony by Sh. Philip Lee who has been a witness of resurrection through fighting against stomach cancer for the last one year. Through his testimony he thankfully confessed that he became alive because of Jesus’ love and the Jonathan-like love from many co-workers around the world. After the testimony, M. Anna Lee from Yabatech, Nigeria shared her prayer topics with many tears and full of thanksgiving and confessed that because of all of our co-workers’ intermediary prayer support there was a great work of the Holy Spirit at the regional summer Bible conferences in Nigeria.
We thank and praise God and pray that our meetings may contain love like Jonathan’s and that we may run the race of faith with patience to the end looking up to Jesus only. Thank you!
