Jongro EBF Children Gathered Together For a Summer Conference with a Theme, "That Love on The Cross"
Jongro UBF (Seoul, Korea)
August 26, 2012
The Jongro EBF Summer Bible Conference was held at Gwangrim Vision Land of Onnuri Church in Gapyeong, Gyeongki province from Aug. 1-3 for three days and two nights, with the theme "That Love on The Cross." A total of 62 people attended including 42 children, 14 teachers, and two families. We prayed that our kids may come to know how much God loves them and how big the love of Jesus on the cross is and keep it in their hearts throughout this conference.
The first day, we had a group Bible study for the main lecture 1 and fun outdoor recreational activities like swimming. In the evening, there was the main lecture 1, “I have another inner self” delivered by Spurgeon Lee based on Mark 5:1-20. For this message, six grade kids performed a duo drama. It gave the kids a good opportunity to look into their inner world. At night, we had a time of “I want to follow the exemplary one,” through which all the six graders shared their life testimonies and made a decision to follow a great man of God from the Bible they chose respectively.
On the second day, we studied the Bible again for the main lecture 2 and afterwards, there was a message entitled" Jesus forsaken for us," given by their teacher, Myung-Eui Song, based on Mark 15, utilizing slides and imaginary materials. At night, the kids had a competition of Bible trivia through a “Bible bell” program.
On the third day, Do-Jeon Bae humorously delivered a message entitled “Do not conform to the pattern of this world” based on Romans 12:2 using slides and Bible trivia questions.
Children's hearts are indeed simple. By the grace of Jesus they shed tears, but soon they would be fixed in playing a game. They need to build up good habits. The conference is over, however, it is time for parents and teachers to pay more attention to our children and help them and pray for them to build up good habits of reading the Bible, instead of playing games.
In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to all the parents and teachers who served this conference with much prayer and deep concerns. Most of all, I believe that God planted the words and the love of Jesus in our children’s hearts. I really thank God for his love in Jesus, by which God is growing our EBF children separate from this world.
