SNU III UBF (Seoul, Korea)

August 5, 2012

From July 13 to 17 (Fri.-Mon.), for four days and three nights, SNU III summer Bible conference was held at the Yeong- Rak retreat center located in An Seong, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. In preparation for the conference, we took a direction of focusing on inviting sheep. So, we simplified the conference program and decided to have four main lectures only without an evening message. Two months before the conference we started united prayer meetings. As a result, a total of 155 people attended including 61 new sheep and 94 leaders.

In this conference, five main messengers, included the opening messenger, gathered together every night at 10:30 p.m. and knelt down to pray for message preparation. Sh. Joseph Cho served the opening message based on John 2:1-11(Jesus changes water to wine at Cana.). The main lecture 1 was served by Sh. Jeong- Soo Park based on Luke 15, “The love of God that forgives the prodigal son.” Afterwards M. Peter Cho and M. Abigail Lee shared testimonies. By the powerful work of the Holy Spirit, all attendants wrote their own testimonies until late at night.

The second day started with testimony sharing based on the first lecture. On the afternoon of the second day there was group Bible study for the second main lecture, “Jesus who does not condemn” and in the evening time shepherd, Ji-woo Kim delivered the message. He is a junior and served the main message for the first time at a conference. Based on this main message, many sheep were inspired and confessed their lust sins through their testimonies.

The third day, there was another group Bible study for the main lecture 3, “Jesus forsaken instead of me” and right after that, Shepherdess Jacky Jin shared her testimony with many tears. Afterwards, testimony sharing time followed. One of the testimony sharers was sister Sae-Teo Min from North Korea who revealed all her pains before Jesus with many tears and forgave all her enemies in North Korea with Jesus’ love. Sh. Paul Ridge from the UK also shared a testimony of his shepherd life.

The fourth day, Sh. Keon-Hee Park served the fourth main lecture, “Do you love me” based on John 21. Right after the message, brother Je-Heon Lee shared his life testimony. In his testimony he made a love confession to Jesus who saved him with endless love.

At this conference, there were five messages and 12 life testimonies and representative testimony speakers based on each main lecture. They were so heart-moving. To support this conference, we prepared dancing, sing-alongs, singing inspiration, special songs, special music, a play, and a drama.

All of these programs were prepared mostly by undergraduate students.

As the fruit of the conference we formed a Mark team meeting. At the first meeting, six brothers and four sisters attended. I earnestly pray that we all raise 12 brotherly disciples of Jesus and seven sisterly disciples of Jesus in this year based on the grace of God we received through this conference.
