Brothers & Sisters Throughout Central Europe Unite for a Conference in Slovakia
Europe UBF
July 27, 2012
Thank God for blessing the Central Europe conference from July 20-23 in Slovakia with the theme, “To Gain Christ!” Eighty missionaries, native students, and leaders came from Austria, Sweden, Germany, Czech, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Belarus, Egypt, USA, and Korea. We could hear gracious, yet very powerful messages delivered by main messengers Ales Maca from Czech and Walter Nett and Stefan Elsholz from Germany, opening messenger Paul Jang from Slovakia, and closing messenger Andrew Kim from Hungary. In Ales Maca’s message we could learn that Jesus wants us to live deeper, fuller lives in him as fishers of men. P. Walter Nett delivered his message based on Matthew 16:13-30 through which everyone could confess like Peter, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Stefan Elsholz in his message challenged all the attendees to deny themselves and take up their own cross. The conference was truly wonderful, filled with the abundant words of God and the beautiful co-working of many servants.
On the second night, we could enjoy much music, dances, Scripture memorization, and other special performances by all the different chapters during “The Night of Central Europe” to celebrate and see God’s vision for Central Europe.
In order to support Central European mission and this conference, Paul Kim came all the way from Chun-Chen, Korea with seven other leaders. We were moved by the special lecture he delivered on the topic of how to gain Christ based on Philippians 3:8 and by his life testimony of how he personally gained Christ.
M. Paul Jang, the director of Slovakia UBF, works at the Korean embassy. Although he is a busy man, he makes the time to study the Bible with his boss, the Korean Counsel, whom he invited to the conference. His wife Esther is a powerful woman of God. She invited seven beautiful Slovak girls and two Slovak boys to the conference.
Throughout the conference, we focused on three prayer topics: 1) for each Central European chapter to raise one ancestor of faith like Abraham and one ancestor of faith like Sarah; 2) for General Director, P. Abraham Kim, and European Director, Walter Nett; and 3) for the three African regional conferences.
