Sh. Philip Lee's Health Update, Korea
Hello! I am Sh. Philip Lee in Korea. I am always thankful to God for the prayers, love and serving from precious missionaries worldwide.
Yesterday (Mon., April 30, 2012) I started the third round of chemotherapy and anticancer chemotherapy injections. I will have to take anticancer medicine for the next 2 weeks.
Initially, I was supposed to have the third round chemotherapy on 4/18/12, but it was postponed because my body showed signs of neutropenia, a condition with an abnormally low number of white blood cells. The usual number of the neutrophils should be over 1500 and in order to proceed with chemotherapy, it should be at least over 1000, but I only had around 700 to 800. Yesterday, however, the level of the number of neutrophils was over 2000 and I finally received the third round of chemotherapy.
I pray that I can maintain the normal level of neutrophils, function of body immune system, and weight in order to receive chemotherapy treatment well. Right now, no significant side effects have followed the third round of chemotherapy, though I had a hard time dealing with nausea and loss of appetite during the first and second round of chemotherapy.
I pray that this time God may reduce these side effects and that I may learn Jesus’ patience and love to overcome this by his grace and mercy.
