PUST Report, Toronto
Thank God for sending Dr. James Chin-Kyung Kim, the president of YUST and PUST to Toronto, Canada. He was pre-scheduled to visit and give speeches at several churches in Toronto, as soon as he completed his packed schedules in the USA. He didn’t know us personally, and didn’t have any plan to meet us. However, as soon as we heard his visiting to Toronto from Dr. Paul Koh, we invited him by faith. His response was unconditionally, “yes,” since he sincerely loved UBF people in Christ. So, last Saturday afternoon (Feb 4), we had a meeting with him at Ryerson center. About 85 people gathered, including student leaders from GTA, Hamilton, Guelph, and London. He spoke in English for the sake of students. His communication in English was excellent, as he was filled with the Holy Spirit.
He introduced himself, “I am not a capitalist; I am not a communist; I am a love-ist.” Then, he testified how Jesus saved him and led him to establish and manage YUST and PUST, which have been totally run by volunteer faculty members and with miraculous financial provision from God. All his achievements were the fruit of God’s love which compelled him to love and forgive and serve all. His love and forgiveness even moved the heart of the Leader in the time of imprisonment. Later, he respected President Kim and unconditionally issued a NK citizenship to him as the first and last case. We were deeply moved by his life of Jesus’ love and forgiveness. He also inspired us, especially our young leaders and 2nd gens, when he said the UBF should inherit YUST and PUST. We accept that word not only as his invitation but also as God’s vision for us that we may serve young people in China and North Korea with God’s love.
