Costa Rica Disciples' Conference Report
M. Pablo Park delivered the message, “A good soldier of Christ Jesus,” based on Timothy 2:1-4. In his message, he challenged us to please our Lord Jesus who recruited us as his soldiers through preaching the gospel of Jesus rather than being entangled by our own private affairs. We also shared New Year’s key verse testimonies with prayer topics for 2012 and thanksgiving and repentance topics from 2011.
At this conference, we also had a baptism and discipleship ceremony. Sisters Tatiana and Karolina were baptized. They accepted Jesus as their personal Savior over the past 2011 winter conference. They were also raised as disciples of Jesus and took a disciples’ oath since they received discipleship training for the last five months. Brother Ernesto, who is already a Christian, also received baptism at this conference.
Tatiana brought her own sister Karolina and her friend Alejandra. She is now serving as the leader of the women’s house. Moreover, she made a decision to teach five Bible students this year. Sister Karolina made a decision to grow as a Bible teacher and faithfully feed one Bible student with the words of God. These two sisters were full of God’s grace and joy through the baptism ceremony and taking of the disciples’ oath. Their good influence and exemplary life greatly challenged all the other brothers and sisters who received God’s grace but became burdened by the life of mission.
I pray that God may grow Tatiana and Karolina as good soldiers of Jesus Christ and use them as good shepherds and Bible teachers for God’s flock in Costa Rica. I also earnestly pray that God may continually raise many disciples of Jesus from among Costa Rican campuses and especially raise 12 Bible teachers within two years. I render all glory only to God.
Thanks,
M. Pablo Park
