Acatlan UBF Christmas Worship Service report, Mexico
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” - Lk 2:11
We thank and praise our Lord for letting us celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus through our Christmas worship service on Sunday, December 18. Since September, we prayed for 100 guests to come to our Christmas worship service. We had 77 guests, plus about 30 children. God preciously blessed our service, giving us a powerful message through Enrique from God´s word in Luke 2 titled: “Jesus Saves Man from His Sins.”
We could learn God´s deep love that sent his Son Jesus to be born in a humble manger in order to save us from a miserable and hopeless life which the people of the world live. We praised the Lord with a song called “Open My Eyes, Oh Jesus,” and other Christmas praises. After the worship service, the Acatlan small orchestra played “Pachelbel’s Cannon” and “Adeline´s Ballad” by Richard Cleyderman. Then Acatlan students performed two dances, “El Carretero” from Jalisco and “La Jarana Yucateca de las Cintas” from Yucatán. Also, for the first time, the little “puppies” (third generation) danced the “Jarabe Tapatío,” which they performed with great enthusiasm and happiness. They also sang a praise song called,“If you have faith like a mustard seed.” Finally, Acatlan´s students performed a small play called, “A Soul´s Auction Sale,” which had a beautiful message about the different choices that a young soul has in his/her life and which kind of life he/she will prefer.
We praise our Lord and we thank him for enabling us to have a Christmas worship service full of joy and happiness and with very powerful and beautiful words. We need to pray more in order to fulfill our prayer topic of 100 guests. May God help us to accomplish it in 2012.
Merry Christmas and Happy 2012,
In Christ,
Rodolfo Blas
