Gwangju 1 and 6 Fall Discipleship Conference Report
“Samuel! Samuel!”
The conference was held from November 11-13. Minchang Lee’s opening message entitled, “Daniel’s Resolution,” helped us to look at God, who blessed Daniel's faith, and drew us to decisions of faith to live in this perverse and corrupted campus environment.
On the second day, Park delivered the main message with the entitled, “Samuel! Samuel!” based on 1 Samuel 3. It was time for us to hear God’s calling and to accept it in this generation that lacks God’s word and vision. We also learned about the faith of our ancestors through two more messages, one which was entitled, “Faith of Noah,” based on Hebrews 11:7 and the other entitled, “David and Goliath,” based on 1 Samuel 17. The final message, which was delivered by Peter Jun entitled, “Let Us Endure the Race of Faith,” based on Hebrews 12, especially challenged us to lay down our worldly dreams and to make clear resolutions of faith to live as men and women of faith.
Through this conference and studying the Bible faithfully, ten new members of the Lukas team, who presented, “The Pilgrim of Progress,” were raised as new leaders. Also eight student leaders presented a symposium called, “Symposium Of Men Of Faith,” and repented of their complacent attitude and unfaithfulness through their research of our ancestors who kept their life of faith in the midst of the darkest time in Korean history.
They made decisions to teach the Bible and live as Bible teachers and spiritual shepherds for campus students. Please pray for us to prepare our hearts to serve the coming new year campus ministry and to preach the gospel to many freshman in 2012.
