P. Abraham Kim's Valle del Tuy (Venezuela 2nd chapter) Visit
After finishing four days of the first Venezuelan United Conference, Pastor Abraham K, Juan S, and Jose A visited the Venezuela 2nd chapter in Valle del Tuy. While M. Juan S was skillfully driving snake-curved mountain roads, we enjoyed panoramic views of Venezuela. Valle Del Tuy UBF was pioneered around five years ago by Socrates (63 years old now), a parent of a Caracas UBF student shepherd, Rosa W one of the ancestors of faith. She married Ricardo who is one of the top leaders. Socrates attended Caracas UBF conferences a few times invited by his daughter Rosa. Socrates lives around one and a half hour distance from Caracas. He has been an automobile mechanic in a car repair shop his whole life. He had faith to begin a house church through group Bible study with his customers and neighborhood people. It grew to be 15-20 attendants in the first year. M. Juan Seo sent Socrates’ daughter’s family (Rosa and Ricardo) to join his ministry two years ago. Ricardo delivered powerful messages and the ministry grew to be 30-40 Sunday worship service attendants. Their meeting place is at the back corner of the repair shop, a half open space. They made walls and curtains and made a sanctuary to have enough for 30-40 members. The dogs run around when they have meetings. They pray to build a center in the same place to contain around 100 members. May God give Socrates his Holy Spirit to prepare and deliver wonderful messages while Ricardo returns to Caracas for a year for further message training. We were moved by God's great work in Venezuela. They sent out pioneers for a third (Maracaivo City) and fourth (Merida) chapter very recently. May God make Venezuela and Latin America a missionary-sending nation.
