(Video) UBF 50th Anniversary World Mission Report, Seoul
The 50thanniversary of UBF (The 16th World Mission Report 2011) was held from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on Sunday, May 29 at Chang Chung Gymnasium, Seoul, Korea. The huge Gymnasium was filled with our missionaries, national leaders, Korean UBF members from all parts of Korea, many distinguished guests from Korean World Mission Association, other important Christian associations as well as several medias such as Christian Today, KukMinIlBo, Christian Newspaper etc. We celebrated our anniversary in three parts.
Part I. Introduction, Video presentation of UBF History and Congratulations
63 national representatives among our 93 mission fields were presented. They joyfully greeted with their own languages wearing traditional costumes. A video presentation showed 50 years of God’s history of UBF. It began with Dr. Lee and M. Barry’s co-working into Bible Korea and World mission. It reached to 93 nations with around 2,000 self-supporting lay missionaries by 2011. The Senior pastor and missionary Bang Ji Il (100 years old, one of the first Korean missionary to China in 1930s.), Rev. Kim Myung Hyuk, Rev. Kim Sang Bok and Rev. Kang Sung Sam congratulated God’s work through UBF through Video clips.
Part II. Worship Service
Dr. John Jun delivered a powerful and inspiring message titled, “You are the Royal Priesthood!” based on 1 Peter 2:9-10. He reminded us of wonderful grace of God who appointed each of us as his Royal Priest and Holy nation in spite of our unworthiness. He challenged us to renew our faith as God’s royal priests. He showed what we must do as God’s royal priests in three ways: First, we must proclaim the gospel of Jesus who brought us out of darkness into his glorious light to all nations through one to one Bible studies. Second, we must be the prayer servants for this generation especially for Moslem mission that is filled with idol worshiping. Third, we must keep on sending out missionaries to all nations. He challenged Korean UBF members not to be retired but to keep on raising and sending out missionaries to all nations. After his message when 4-500 Korean UBF Chorus members majestically sang “Hallelujah” accompanied with more than 100 orchestra members, all the audiences stood up. We altogether praised God and glorified him who had done such mighty work during last 50 years through UBF.
Part III. 4 World Mission Reports: Fan dancing and Modern dancing
David Hull (USA) praised God who saved him from meaningless sinful life. Only by God’s grace he was not only saved but also established a beautiful house church. He is now living as a fellowship leader in NU, Chicago. He prayed to pioneer a new chapter in three years and to go out as a missionary as soon as possible too.
Padiet Dang moved our hearts when he shared his decision of faith to live with a martyrdom spirit as a UBF director in S country.
Isidro Puente Perez well expressed how God delivered him from a patty life into a glorious Mexican missionary to El Salvador.
Darren Hilldrow (UK) was drinking and getting high, traveling other countries. Yet his life was still bored. But in UBF he met Jesus who said, “Son! Your sins are forgiven!” He is sure that Jesus who could change such a sinner like him will save UK and Europe too.
Finally Dr. Samuel H. Lee praised God for appointing us as God’s royal priests and holy nation. He thanked God for all God had done through our missionaries scattered all around the world, many national leaders, Korean leaders and members especially M. Barry and Grace A. Lee.
The celebration was over with a shouting hand in hand, “Bible Korea! (Each named his/her nation!), World Mission! Enlarge your tent!” and two by two prayers after the prayer topics given by Dr. Samuel H Lee as follows:
1. Let’s repent our easy going life forgetting God’s calling for us to be royal priests and holy nations
2. May God bless us to pioneer 140 more countries to reach out 233 all nations of the world till 2041 by sending out 100,000 missionaries.
3. May God unify South and North Korea and continuously use the united Korea in the future for world mission.
4. May God bless our missionary seminar with his Grace and the word of God.
