Depok UBF Easter Conf. Report, Indonesia
"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?'” - John 11:25-26
From April 22-24, we had an Easter Bible conference at the Depok UBF center. Prior to the conference, we met three times a week for preparation through 1 Peter Bible study and prayer. A week before the conference, we studied Ezekiel37 as a special lecture, which showed us God’s vision to raise dry bones as his strong army.
John delivered an opening message based on Isaiah 53 with the title, “Jesus, who died for our sins.” He announced the reason for Jesus’ death with much grace through his personal testimony. After group Bible study, Janus, Zakaria, and Iman delivered three powerful lectures based on 1 Corinthians 15 which taught us the glorious hope of the resurrection. Followed by the lectures was a 1 Corinthians 15 memorization contest by fellowships Joshua K. delivered the final main message based on John 11 with the title, “I am the resurrection and the life.”
After the message, we wrote sincere testimonies and shared them altogether. We thank God for giving complete spiritual restoration through our conference to our growing leaders, who had been suffering with many problems. God used this conference to raise us, like dry bones, as a strong army of God. May we continue to serve 120 1:1 Bible studies and 120 Sunday worship service attendees with the spirit of the resurrection wholeheartedly.
After the conference, we had a special Bible study based on 1 Peter 5 with the title, “Be a good example to God’s flock.” Now we are studying the book of Hebrews and are planning to finish the whole book in this year.
I am traveling across the country on a business trip with my boss. I realized that it is God’s plan for me to pray for the nation. I thank God who provided everything for the trip, including good health. I pray I may continue to learn the God of Indonesia.
Joshua K., Iman, and I are going to attend the 50th anniversary and World Mission Report in Korea. My wife Sarah and my children will join me later on June 1 due to my children’s exams.
Thank you for your sincere prayers for Indonesia.
