“For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” (1Corinthians 15:22)

We thank and praise God above for pouring out His blessing on the Montreal UBF held at Villa St. Martin, which is a beautiful Jesuit monastery. Although the conference was held one week after Easter (April 29 - May 1), everyone was full of the spirit of Easter. God sent a total of 52 attendants: Montreal UBF (41 attendants), Algonquin UBF (5 attendants), U de M UBF (2 attendants), North York UBF (3 attendants) and Kingston UBF (1 attendant).

At this conference, we prayed to renew our faith in the resurrection by seeing the glory of God in the face of the Risen Christ (2Co 4:6). The main lectures were based on 1Corinthians 15, which was divided into three parts: “The Gospel of the Resurrection” by Philip Wong, “The Power of the Resurrection” by Jason Northey, and “The Glory of the Resurrection” by Ernest Chan. Through the main lectures, we were reminded to hold firmly to the gospel that saves: Jesus who died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. Like cancer, sin becomes a part of us, and we are powerless to overcome sin and death. It is through faith in this gospel that we receive power to live victorious lives over sin and death, and to live as witnesses of the Risen Jesus and are given a glorious hope of receiving the resurrection body. Other messengers were Andrew Christopher (opening), Nicolas and Luke Jr. (2-part Saturday morning devotion), Isaac Jeong and Peter Jang (2-part message on Isaiah 53), Veronique and Vani (2-part Sunday morning devotion) and David Jumeau (closing).

God worked in the hearts of several growing students who were able to participate in the conference activities. Nicolas, Veronique, and Luke Jr. who could deliver morning devotion messages. Seven students shared life testimonies, including Alexei and Rita who are growing as a young house church; Marcel, Jia, and Michelle graced us with their first life testimonies; Lesedi who could share his hope and vision to become a professor shepherd, and Pierre who renewed his calling to be a father of many nations. Almost every attendant participated either through special performances, music, group Bible study, Bible verse recital and praise & worship night. We thank God for his wonderful work at our conference, most of all for Jesus who has won the victory over sin and death for us through the cross and His resurrection!
