BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS!

Thank God for blessing our student-led Bible club’s Welcome Night at Humber College.

Our students have worked hard for almost one month to prepare this event in the midst of their busy school studies, exams and assignments. Our student president, Joe Minielli, prayed and communicated with each team leader and members, gathering altogether to discuss and to pray for the event.  He also communicated with Humber Student’s Federation for all necessary paper works and room booking.  Joe was able to post all invitation posters around the school with the help and prayer support.

Although this overwhelmed him many times, he learned through this event to depend on God. He testified that God blessed him on his exams when he gave his heart first to serve this event by faith, overcoming his anxiety at times.

The ‘Praise and worship’ team gathered to practice several times for the past two weeks. On March 30, 2011, our student leaders and Rebekah Lee went early and decorated the room and welcomed students. Many students saw the posters before the event and showed interests via e-mail and on the day of the event; many came to participate.

The event began with icebreakers, then praise and worship, a PowerPoint presentation about the club and our activities, and finally a short message based on Joshua 1:8 by Joe Minielli.

We also prepared a survey for the students to fill out and many answered, expressing their interests for Bible study, Friday disciples’ meetings, Sunday worship and we will follow up with those students who showed their interest.  Out of 39 attendants, 23 new students came.

There were refreshments and joyful fellowship afterwards. On the following Friday, one student came to our Young Disciples Meeting and really liked it. May God continue to grow our young disciples/student leaders as they practice the word of God in their daily lives.
