2010 Key Verse:
“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” (2 Tim 2:2)

GOD'S WORK THROUGH THE KEY VERSE

Last year’s key verse was chosen to provide direction for raising up Bible teachers. In 2Ti 2:2, we can find four generations of Bible teachers: Paul taught Timothy so that Timothy could, in turn, entrust the teaching to reliable men who would be qualified, in their own, to teach others.

At the beginning of last year, we had several core members who we hoped to grow as reliable teachers. In the past year, God has blessed this prayer to raise Bible teachers. Each of our Bible teachers gained new Bible students this year. God also blessed us to have more brothers and more undergraduate students, as we had prayed.

PERSONAL BIBLE STUDY

In the spring, we finished John’s gospel. We also covered parts of Daniel and later the general epistles. In this fall, we began Matthew’s gospel. So far, we have been especially blessed with the chance to go more carefully through the teachings on the Sermon on the Mount. Among our 1 to 1 students, four finished the book of Genesis this year. Other students have finished their 12-step studies.

WITNESSING AND ONE TO ONE MINISTRY

This year we continued to invite people through posters and regular fishing times. This work brought several new people, especially in the fall semester. In addition, Jenny, Sagar, and Judy continued to invite their friends. Through this, we met several Indian students who now attend our ministry.

CONFERENCES AND SPECIAL PROGRAMS

OUR EASTER BIBLE CONFERENCE was based on John’s gospel. 25 people came, including Shepherdess Lena and Brother Wu, who visited from Moscow. The messengers were Steve, Allison, Yawen, and Mandy. Lena, Wu, Celine, Tina, and Jenny also shared life testimonies.

OUR SUMMER BIBLE CONFERENCE was attended by 28 people. The theme was “In the beginning”, focusing on the first 12 chapters of Genesis. Messengers were Steve, Allison, Yawen, Mandy, Tina, and Jenny.

OUR CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE was attended by 20 people. The passage was on the visit of the Magi. Several members shared poems or special songs.

SELF-SUPPORTING & LANGUAGE STUDY
Our missionary family currently has a stable job situation. The prayer topic is for me to get tenure. Also, Dr. Allison teaches part-time in the Computer Science and Social Science departments. We pray for her to become a full-time professor. Yawen’s campus job was extended at least through this coming spring. We are happy for this and pray for her future plan of PhD study. We also pray for Mandy to get a position teaching Chinese classes on campus.

Our programs are bilingual. I speak in English, and Allison translates. Some students are attracted by the English. It also helps to distinguish us from other Christian groups on campus. In the quite long term, however, we pray that I learn Mandarin.

COWORKING & 2ND GENERATION SERVING/EDUCATION

We encourage eating fellowship, such as after the GBS, to build a stronger sense of Christian unity. Also this year Mandy and Jenny began common life training. Some members also visited Hong Kong for their Summer Bible Conference.

We maintained our morning prayer meeting throughout the year. Yawen and Mandy usually attend with us. Tina also comes when her work permits.

GUEST SERVING FOR WORLD MISSION

Shepherdess Lena was in Taiwan near the time of our aster conference, for business travel. We were glad that she could extend her stay so as to attend our conference. She also brought Brother Wu, who studies in Moscow, but who was planning to return to Taiwan after graduation. They were a cheerful addition to our conference.

Part II. 2011 Vision & Strategy

KEY VERSE AND PRAYER TOPICS
OUR NEW 2011 KEY VERSE is Matthew 6:32b-33 “… and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

This key verse is chosen to remind us of the importance of living by faith. In the past year many members showed spiritual growth. But each one of us also has significant personal prayer topics, either about marriage or career or family. The worries of life can come in and choke off the word, making it unfruitful. From our Matthew Bible studies, we accepted our heavenly Father knows everything that we need, even before we ask him. He has promised to provide for us if we seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.

We pray that our members may experience God’s provision as they seek first his kingdom, and that their difficulties can become opportunities to live by faith and to grow in faith.

BIBLE ACADEMY & CONFERENCE AGENDA
There will be a Leaders Workshop in January, and Easter and Summer Bible Conferences, as well as a Christmas service. We would also like to have some programs with the Taipei ministry, if possible.
