My House Will Be Called a House of Prayer


Matthew 21:12-17

“It is written,” he said to them, “My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it a ‘den of robbers.’”


 Read verses 12-13.  What did Jesus do in the temple area?  What did he teach about the purpose of the temple?  How did people make the temple a ‘den of robbers’?  How can we make our church a house of prayer?    













 Read verses 14.  Who came to Jesus at the temple?  What did Jesus do for them?  What more can we learn about the purpose of the temple?  















 Read verses 15-17.  How did the people respond to the wonderful things Jesus did in the temple?  How did the chief priests and teachers of the law respond?  What did they ask Jesus, and how did he answer them?  Why did Jesus ordain praise from children and infants but not from the chief priest and teachers of the law?
