Read verses 1-8. What were the disciples doing as they went through the grainfields? What did the Pharisees say to Jesus? How did Jesus answer them? Read verses 9-12. When Jesus went into the synagogue, who did he see? What did the Pharisees say to Jesus this time? Why? How did Jesus answer them? According to what Jesus said, what does it mean to do good on the Sabbath?
3. Read verses 13-14. What did Jesus say to the man with the shriveled hand? Why might it not have been easy for this man to stretch out his hand? Yet, what did he do? What happened next? What does this event show how to do good on the Sabbath? What can we learn about Jesus? What did the Pharisees do? What does this show about them?
