BLESSED ARE ALL WHO FEAR THE LORD

Passage: Psalm 128:1~6

Key verse: 128:1

First, the blessing for the man who fears the Lord (1-4). The Psalmist said, 'Blessed are all who fear the Lord.' Then what is it to fear the Lord? It means to walk in obedience to him. Noah was a man who walked with God. He obeyed God's command to build an ark. When he did God used him as a source of life for the world. It is a fearful thing to walk with God, for we are sinners who only deserve God's righteous judgment. But those who walk with him in such a tension learn that he is a God of blessing. He blesses us, our family, and he creates us to be a source of blessing, bearing it to this world. Second, may the Lord bless you (5-6). This is the prayer for all of God's people. It is the prayer of eternal blessing from the Lord. When we fear the Lord we gain access to his love, forgiveness and eternal blessing. When we live under his rule we experience overflowing blessing, heavenly blessing, from the Lord himself. We learn to pray continually for God's blessing from Zion.

Prayer: Lord, you are my creator and sovereign. Teach me daily what it is to fear God. Make me a blessing today.

One Word: Fear God, be blessed
