DAVID'S DECISION TO BE BLAMELESS

Passage: Psalm 101:1~8

Key verse: 101:2

First, I will be careful to lead a blameless life (1-4). David is known as a man after God's own heart. This Psalm shows his desire to sing God's praise and live a life of integrity before God in all areas. He decided to conduct the affairs of his house with a blameless heart; to not approve of the vile, or participate in the activities of the faithless. He chose his friends carefully, avoiding the perverse of heart and that which is evil. His motive in such a decision was his longing for God's coming. Second, my eyes will be on the faithful (5-8). David's integrity was not just a personal matter to him. As King, he decided to exert his influence with integrity as well, upholding what is right. He would silence slander, not tolerate proud hearts, cast out those who were deceitful, and cut off evildoers in the land. At the same time, those who were faithful he drew close to himself, and raised up those whose walk was blameless to minister to the king.

Prayer: Father, you are holy. I want to live with you, so I decide to live with integrity and good influence.

One Word: Live a life of integrity before God
