YOU, LORD, SIT ENTHRONED FOREVER

Passage: Psalm 102:1~28

Key verse: 102:12

First, He will respond to the prayer of the destitute (1-17). This is a prayer of a man who is suffering, perhaps due to physical illness, economic problems, family issues, and many other possibilities. Yet over all this, his hope is found in the redemption of Zion. When the LORD shows compassion, all will be rebuilt and the LORD will appear in his glory. With this hope he has assurance that the LORD indeed hears his prayer. God always hears and responds to prayer, and never despises the plea of the destitute. Second, the children of your servants will live in your presence (18-28). Confident in the Lord's answer, the Psalmist finds hope in God's work in a future generation. We too find hope in this coming kingdom, where all peoples assemble to worship the Lord. Although our time is short, and God's wrath evident, we pray and find hope in God for every generation, as he is our eternal King, enthroned forever. May our children and grandchildren share this hope.

Prayer: Father, you hear my prayers and answer. Let me find hope in your eternal throne.

One Word: Your years will never end
