GREAT IS THE LORD AND WORTHY OF PRAISE

Passage: Psalm 145:1~21

Key verse: 145:3

First, I will exalt you my God and King (1-13). God created all things for his glory. We his creatures must praise him and extol his great name forever and ever. When we meditate on his great works, we become great; we must tell of his mighty acts to our children and to our sheep. Even though he is the Almighty Creator of heaven and earth, he is compassionate. And he is loving toward all he has made. His saints--those who belong to him through faith in Jesus--must tell of the glory of his eternal kingdom. Second, the Lord is faithful to all his promises (14-21). Our God is a God who makes promises, and he keeps all his promises. He promised Abraham that through his offspring all peoples would be blessed; he sent Jesus to bring forgiveness and peace to all who trust him. He promises to open his hand to supply all our needs and he promises to fulfill the desires of those who fear him. He also promises to be near to all who call on him in truth.

Prayer: Lord, I extol your name. Thank you for faithfully keeping your promises.

One Word: Our great God keeps his promises
